Hope to be entering the Souther XC series race this Sunday in Alton, hopefully I can get free from the fire brigade but as the numbers are always crap I will have to keep my fingers crossed.
Anyway has anyone got any ideas on pre race feeding because I’m getting mixed results off the net, so far I have scrambled eggs and beans on toast about 2 hours before the race or oatmeal and raisins, with a gel 15 mins before, but the days before i’m not sure about? is it pasta all the way?
Apparently diet makes a huge difference in race day performance? so anything that will help me at least finish is a bonus.

Trial and error.
I did a 150 mile ride recently – had 2 cups of coffee before hand and just fed myself bananas, gels and rowntree’s randoms on the way round – with a bacon butty in the middle
